“Rift’s messing with the navs,” Ren muttered, wrestling the controls. “Any bright ideas, Weaver Girl?”

Aiko closed her eyes, letting her thread guide her. It pulsed, pointing deeper into the Rift. “There,” she said, trusting it. Ren followed, grumbling but impressed.

Halfway through, alarms blared. Pirate ships—sleek, spiked, and bristling with cannons—flanked them. A voice crackled over the comms: “Hand over the weaver, or we scrap your junk heap.”

Ren smirked. “They think you’re valuable, Aiko. Flattered?”

“Focus!” she hissed, weaving a shield of threads to block a laser volley. Korr roared, manning the Junk’s turret, his shots precise despite the Rift’s distortions. Sable hacked the pirates’ comms, broadcasting nonsense poetry to confuse them.

But the Rift fought back. Visions bled into reality—Aiko saw Lumora burning, Ren saw a childhood he’d buried, Korr saw a battlefield soaked in regret. Aiko’s thread burned hotter, anchoring her. “It’s testing us!” she shouted. “Hold on to what’s real!”

Ren snapped out of it, dodging a missile. Korr fired a final salvo, scattering the pirates. Sable’s voice cut through: “The Temple’s near. One last push.”

They emerged from the Rift, battered but alive, to find Elara’s Temple—a floating ruin of crystal spires, glowing faintly. Aiko stepped onto its platform, her thread humming in sync with the structure. A door opened, revealing a chamber where the Celestial Spindle hovered, half-broken, its threads frayed like the Loom’s.

“It’s real,” Aiko whispered, reaching for it. But the ground shook, and a shadow loomed—a voidbeast, born from the Rift’s chaos, its claws aimed at her heart.

Korr tackled it, buying time. Ren fired the Junk’s last cannon. Sable wove a digital barrier. Aiko grabbed the Spindle, her gift flaring—she saw the Loom’s pattern, its flaws, her role. With a desperate weave, she redirected the beast’s energy, collapsing it into light.

The chamber stilled. Aiko held the Spindle, its weight heavy with promise and danger. “This isn’t the end,” she said, meeting her crew’s eyes. “It’s the start.”

Ren grinned. “Guess we’re starweavers now.”
